The hook separator clears hooks and lines quickly and efficiently from the ground line and conveys them onto storage magazines. The hook separator operates synchronous with the line hauler and conveys the line from the hauler to the storage magazines. The ground line is pulled around a pulley/sheave while the hooks are picked up by a rail that guides them onto a magazine where damaged hooks can be straightened or replaced. Hooks and lines are then conveyed onto storage magazines.
