LineController™ is a computer-based control and data storage system designed specially for longlining.

Catch rate improved

The catch rate is improved and the loss of gear is minimized by use of the system. The system consists of software, sensors, hardware and touch screen monitors for easy operation.

Control and recording

During hauling of the gear following is recorded:

• Line tension
• Hauling speed
• Hooks per minute
• Meter or feet per minute
• Catch rate and weight

The software enables:

• Adjustment of hauling speed
• Adjustment of hauling power
• Start and stop of the hauling unit from the Bridge

Software database

Following data is automatically stored in the database:

• Trip number
• Number of lines
• Setting time
• Hauling time
• Number of hooks
• Baiting percentage
• Catch
• Catch rate per hooks

The software allows:

• Data sorting
